The weeks of review are over. Testing week is about half over. I had students going in confident because they have seen themselves perform at the level they need to. I am very proud of the consistent work they have put in from daily tutoring to even coming on some Saturdays.
That other group of students is sad to look at. I have several seniors that need to pass this test to graduate, and they did not put the work in (or come to class) second semester. This week they were scrambling to get extra time, which I did my best to give, but it is really to late in the game. Many of them will not ever receive their diploma if they do not pass.
We won’t talk about that until tests are over, though. Who knows? Maybe Osmosis can happen with Algebra too. Please throw up some prayers for my students. Then, you can throw up some prayers for my emotional well-being if they don’t do well. There I go getting focused on me again. In all reality, these tests have a whole lot to do with these students’ life trajectory, and I appreciate your thoughts for them very much. I will fill y’all in when we get results.
In lighter new: East High Prom in Saturday, and I think that Sophie and I will be in attendance.
